The museums about the farm civilisation that flourish in many villages in the Maremma do not try to replace the folkloric performances that are many and varied here, in which the population participates in great numbers, sometimes only as spectators, but often also performing. Religious events with torch-light processions, historic commemorations, feasts with products from the land, smacking slightly of paganism, carnival processions, Pali... and then there are the world-famous cattle-branding in the Parco dell’Uccellina and the rodeo of the Maremma cowherds of Alberese.
